Few vehicles are as ubiquitous as the Ford Escape. Providing style and comfort inside a package with strong tech and responsive power, the diminutive Escape has been a favorite with drivers since its debut at the turn of the century.

Red 2020 Ford Escape

Although it has a long and decorated history, the current Ford Escape is more than capable in its own right. The 2020 Ford Escape has been designed to compete with contemporary crossover SUV's, featuring a curved elongated form that provides more room in the cabin while granting it a striking appearance. This Escape is lighter, faster and more aerodynamic than its predecessors.

Inside the more than adequate frame lies a plethora of amenities and tech options, including a standard eight-inch touchscreen that utilizes Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system. This device, which provides access to features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, has been designed with easy-to-use menus and exceptional graphics.

The high-tech features of the 2020 Escape don't end with simple entertainment functions, however. The Escape is also equipped with Ford's premier safety suite, Co-Pilot360, providing a range of devices to keep you and yours safe. Including features such as blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assistance, pre-collision detection with autonomous emergency braking and even available evasive steering assist and adaptive cruise control. While those features keep the vehicle out of harm's way, additional options such as active park assist and a six-inch head-up display are available as well.

While it boasts impressive tech and safety options, it is important to note that the 2020 Escape has substantial power under the hood as well. A new 1.5-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged engine is the base powertrain on most models, featuring an 'Engine Deactivation System' that conserves fuel when additional power isn't necessary. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Escape is capable of cranking out 180 horsepower and 177 pounds per foot of torque. An upgrade to a 2.0-liter turbo-four is available as well, along with a 2.5-liter hybrid with an estimated electric range of 30 miles. Regardless of the choice of engine, the 2020 Escape is impressive all around.
